Ok. Our 3.5-acre slice of Texas Hill Country isn’t really a famous prison……but when you are a curious dog whose neck has gotten, ahem, too large for the Freedom Inhibiting Collar, once in a great while you have a giddy moment and realize that you can bust loose and go for a little jaunt. Especially if your mistress is across the street taking photographs of that pile of rocks (what does she see in there, anyhow?) and you think she needs company.
Chaya is not the tricksy daughter of Houdini Magic for nothin’.
Here are a few clips from our walkabout on a balmy Saturday afternoon. [70F today, eat yer heart out].
My subject matter was a rock wall and barbed wire fence (it’s a stretch to call it a fence, as it’s obviously in disrepair) just a stone’s throw from my house. (Stone’s throw—-see what I did there?) That’s possibly a recycled pun, as this wasn’t my first Nikon rodeo with this wall. Sorry, that’s all I got today.
To boost the cute factor and hopefully keep Chaya’s head from swelling, I tossed in a pic of this sweet and bashful miniature beast of burden I happened to see yesterday afternoon. She was a little darling and posed ever so nicely for her beauty shot. However, I was persistently nudged by her horsey roommate, who seemed offended that I wasn’t taking pictures of him and so he kept nudging me with his big soft hairy nose every time I had the whole danged donkey in frame. Forgive me for clipping Mini Donkey’s front hooves off just a smidgen. I assure you, they are really there.
Have a pleasant Saturday evening.
